PARIS, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Petra Kvitova managed to return to the quarterfinals at Roland Garros for the first time since 2012 after a comfortable 6-2, 6-4 dismissal of China's Zhang Shuai in the opening game on Court Philippe-Chatrier on Monday.
Dong was a lethal weapon on offensive end, scoring 12 points down the stretch as Zhejiang rode on a 14-0 spurt to race ahead 46-27 midway through the second quarter.
In the match between Wuhan and Beijing, Beatriz Zaneratto Joao gave Wuhan an early 1-0 lead as she stole the ball from a Beijing defender and hit the ball into the net in the 3rd minute. Wang Xinxin helped Wuhan extend the lead in the 14th minute as she lobbed a pass that flew straight into the net, catching the keeper off guard.
"We are an experienced team and know that we can do well without very important players," Gareca told reporters. "We have to be mentally prepared and make sure we are focused from the very first minute of the first match."
With the result, Dortmund now sits third in the table, whereas Freiburg suffered its first defeat and slipped to the 11th spot.
Serge Aurier added a fifth soon after the break, and a Kane penalty 10 minutes from time rounded off the scoring in a game that could leave Solskjaer's job at risk.
Rennes had the chance to win all three points in stoppage time but Steven Nzonzi's header hit the post.
The win also improves the Serbian's season record to a stunning 34-1. The only defeat came in a disqualification earlier this month at the US Open, where he hit a ball in frustration which struck the line judge on the neck.
Also on Sunday, Lille secured a comfortable 3-0 win at Strasbourg thanks to goals from Zeki Celik, Renato Sanches and Burak Yilmaz. Strasbourg has lost five of its six league games since the new season started in August. Enditem
